WHO ARE WE?

Mercy Widows & Orphans Foundation is a non governmental organization named after our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Lolo Mercy Ogbuehi (Mama), who went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2010. This Foundation is in fulfilment of Mama’s wishes whose house was always open to orphans, widows, the poor, the hungry, and to strangers. Mama attended to their needs, ensuring that everyone that she came across regardless of race and religion was treated with respect and caring love. Her heartbeat was having mercy on the poor and less privileged. Mercy Widows & Orphans Foundation was established in fulfilment of a vision given by God to continue with Mama’s lifework and expand on it. The Foundation is comprised of Ministers of The Gospel, Lawyers, Social Workers, and Humanitarian Workers.

WHY DO WE EXIST?

We exist to meet the needs of widows, orphans, the aged and the less privileged in our community, and the world at large; relieve the oppressed, the fatherless, as well as, plead for the widow as the God of heaven will enable us (Isaiah 1:17).

In Luke 19:13, Our Lord Jesus told us to ‘occupy till He comes’. Mercy Widows & Orphans Foundation has not only come to fill the vacuum, but also come to occupy in the areas concerning the welfare of the people.

OUR WIDOWS

All over the world the suffering and pains widows go through in the hands of their immediate families cannot be over emphasized. That is why Mercy Ogbuehi Widows and Orphans Foundation was set up to alleviate or ameliorate these untold hardships that widows go through. Our activities include training them in various courses such as Catering, Fashion, Salon (Beauty), Industrial (Soap making etc) and Computer. We empower them after their training to be on their own and take care of themselves. This is our own little way to push on these dangerous effects off their lives.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

ACCORDING TO THE UNITED NATIONS WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME, SOME 795 MILLION PEOPLE IN THE WORLD DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH FOOD TO LIVE A HEALTHY ACTIVE LIFE.

That’s about one in nine people on earth. The vast majority of the world’s hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished. Sub-Saharan Africa is the region with the highest prevalence (percentage of population) of hunger. One in four persons is undernourished.

One of the most sobering facts about global hunger is that it steals life from the most innocent and vulnerable. But even more important fact is that YOU can help end it. If you’re not already a supporter you can join us right now. You too can become a powerful force for good in the fight against global hunger.
